Exponses 24: Larest Latin American Film Business Convention ends 11th edition with over 2,000 registrations

Exhibitors, producers and distributors gathered in 4 days of the event to check out news and discuss the future of the sector

ExpoCine 24 ended its programming on Friday, October 11, with a ceremony in the late afternoon at Cine Marquise, in São Paulo. Bringing together audiovisual professionals in four days, the event celebrated the success of its 11th edition, which this year was expanded, with 50 guest panelists, two floors of the business fair with about 70 exhibitors and more than two thousand registrants. In addition, those present checked the already traditional honors to companies in the distribution, production and exhibition for work and excellence dedicated to the industry.

“Thanks for these four intense days. Making a retrospective since the beginning of the fair, we had 14 distributors presenting their lines, 14 panels in the SPCine room, 6 workshops in the Ancine Room, more than 70 brands exhibited at the business fair, Expaci deCupa, which was when we started our work on Tuesday, besides our honorees today. 

This time, four companies received the Expocine Trophy. In the distribution segment, the event recognized the work and performance of Paris Filmes, represented by CEO Marcio Fraccaroli, as well as Downtown Filmes, with partner and CEO Bruno Wainer. Both received the trophy from the hands of Marcelo Lima, CEO of Tonks/ExpoCine. 

In the production area, plastic films was recognized for the 15 years of history in the audiovisual produced in Minas Gerais. Maurílio Martins, one of the producer's founding partners, took the stage to receive the award from journalist Barbara Demerov. 

And in the exhibiting market, Cine Roxy, located in Santos, was featured for its 90 years of existence and its tradition in Baixada Santista. To receive the tribute, the cinema general director Toninho Campos was attended by Marcos Araújo, one of his longtime friends.

The closing ceremony also received the presence of the president of SPCine, Lyara Oliveira, who stressed the importance of the convention for the audiovisual market in the country.

"Being here is a great joy. We had days of change, business, knowledge, established partnerships. And that is what we believe, that the audiovisual ecosystem depends on events and meetings like these so that people relate, more business happen and all connections flow better."   

On this last day, ending the programming of activities, the public can check two chats. The first of these approached the influence of social networks on film consumption and the second brought to the center of the conversation the movie public, to talk about his experiences in the cinema. A Showcase Movies, Warner Bros. Discovery and Universal also completed the presentations, bringing the main releases of Line-Up 2024/2025.

With the scheduled program between Cine Marquise and the Renaissance Hotel, visitors were able to check out the last day of the business fair with more than 70 exhibitors and many service brands and products presenting their main news for the markets for screening, distribution and film production. ExpOCINE 2024 had the sponsorship by boat, Big Poc, Christie, GDC, Harkness, Hotound, Ticket.com, Kinoplex, Latc, Osram, Screen X, Sharp, Power Chocolates and Well Sale.
