
Latin American Film Business Convention, ExpoCine began yesterday, October 8, its 11th edition and began a diverse program that, until Friday, the 11th, will address in lectures, panels and workshops about the new reality of the Brazilian audiovisual market and the demands for the future. The opening, held at Cine Marquue, in São Paulo, brought together exhibitors and market professionals, as well as important names of the audiovisual segment, such as Leandro Pardi, Innovation Superintendent and Policies of SPCine's audiovisual, one of the supporters of the event.
“SPCINE is a film and audiovisual company linked to the city hall. It has been around since 2016 and since the first year it supports it, precisely because it understands that exchange spaces like this are fundamental to our existence and for the sector. It will be an honor to be able to share our news with all of you,” PARDI commented on the importance of expOCINE panels and content for the development and growth of the industry.
Marcelo Lima, creator and organizer of Expocine, stressed that in this edition the convention is aligned with the resumption of the sector.
“We started our work for this edition on the first Monday Post Exponsible 23 to bring the best content. This year, along with exhibitors, we were able to double the size of the business fair, so we are going back to the level of pre-standard business generation. To end the opening day of the event, H2O Filmes has opened the presentations of the distributors, which will also take place in the Sala Boat of Cine Marquise, presenting firsthand to the Brazilian market its line-up of launches for the end of the year and already anticipating news for 2025.
Expaci decupa
During the day of Tuesday, there was still the 2nd edition of Expocine Decupa, which brought together students and professionals who have interest or already work in the audiovisual sector for chats with the various professionals responsible for the Brazilian animation “Arca de Noé”. The film opens only on November 7 in theaters.
Following a programming designed especially for participants, those present watched 15 unpublished minutes of the feature and were able to know in detail the main stages of production work, from script, production and distribution to the soundtrack and voice acting. Among the guest speakers was director Sérgio Machado, who told some curiosities about the design of the project, which is already considered the largest national animation in history.
“The idea was always to bring a tribute to Vinicius (from Moraes) on screen, which would live up to his weight to Brazilian culture, very Brazilian, but at the same time as it was also universal. And the biggest proof we got is that the film has been sold to over 70 countries even before its release.”
