Another edition of EXPOCINE Decupa is approaching, and this time it will focus on one of the most anticipated films of the year: the still-unreleased The Secret Agent (Vitrine Filmes) . EXPOCINE , the largest film convention in Latin America, is hosting the third edition of Decupa, an event aimed at students and professionals in the audiovisual sector. In this exclusive opportunity, participants will have access to an immersive program of the film's production stages weeks before its premiere. The event will take place on September 30th, from 10:00 am to 4:45 pm, at Cine Marquise, located in Conjunto Nacional on Paulista Avenue, São Paulo.

An excellent opportunity for students and audiovisual enthusiasts to exchange knowledge with leading industry professionals. During the Decupa day, participants will learn about the main stages of the production, which won Wagner Moura the Best Actor award and Kleber Mendonça Filho the Best Director award at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Taught by professionals who worked directly on the film, such as Dora Amorim, Thales Junqueira and Filipe Fernandes, the program will be divided into six panels that will cover: direction and casting; production, executive production and pre-production; sound direction, recording and soundtrack; art direction, costumes and characterization; editing and distribution and marketing.

Set in 1977 Recife, The Secret Agent officially hits Brazilian theaters on November 6th, with special and early screenings available in September and October. The film is a political thriller that follows Marcelo (Wagner Moura), a technology expert who flees a mysterious past and returns to Recife in search of peace, but soon realizes that the city is far from the refuge he seeks.

The cast features some of Brazil's biggest names, including Maria Fernanda Cândido, Gabriel Leone, Carlos Francisco, Hermila Guedes, Alice Carvalho, Roberto Diogenes, and others. Directed by Emilie Lesclaux, the film is a co-production with CinemaScópio (Brazil), MK Productions (France), Lemming Film (Netherlands), and One Two Films (Germany). It will be distributed in Brazil by Vitrine Filmes. Internationally, it will be released by NEON (USA and Canada) and MUBI (UK, Ireland, India, and Latin America, excluding Brazil).

Brasilia Festival

In addition to being the attraction of EXPOCINE Decupa, The Secret Agent will also be the opening film of the Brasília Festival , in its edition that celebrates 60 years since its premiere. The session will be on September 12, at Cine Brasília, at 8:00 pm, and tickets go on sale tomorrow (7).

In a social media post, Kleber Mendonça Filho emphasized: "The Brasília Film Festival is celebrating its 60th anniversary. It's part of the lives and trajectories of those who make films in Brazil, of those who write about Brazilian cinema, the press, and academia, and of those who make cinema as a whole—acting, photographing, writing, or recording cinematic sound. And, of course, the screening at the spectacular Cine Brasília, a work by Oscar Niemeyer, is of enormous importance. It's one of the greatest movie theaters still in operation in the world."
