Continuing with the announcement of the Expocine 2020 , today the highlight is the panel “Piracy in the Global and National Context”, a table that will be composed of Andressa Pappas (director of MPA – Motion Picture Association ), Marcelo Goyanes (from Murta Goyanes Advogados and representative of the producers in the technical chamber for combating piracy at Ancine ) and Jonas Antunes (Regulatory Legal Director at ABTA – Brazilian Subscription Television Association ).
Moderated by Tânia Lima of the Brazilian Video Game Union ( UBV&G ), the panel will discuss the actions each organization is taking to combat this illegal practice. The debate also aims to address how the global market is responding to piracy during the current pandemic.
Piracy has always been a concern for the audiovisual sector, and the problem only worsens with social isolation, when consumption and interest in home entertainment are growing. "The year 2020 accelerated the consolidation of the online universe, which is becoming increasingly present in our daily lives. This digitalization tends to stimulate the consumption of pirated content. Therefore, it's important to understand what this new world will be like and what the entities representing our sector are doing to mitigate the impacts of piracy," explains Marcelo JL Lima.
The panel is part of the second day of Expocine 2020 , which will take place virtually from October 15th to 16th. Register now!
